Amiee Romans, RDN, LD, LMT, is the owner and founder of Authentic Nutrition. She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who believes that wellness is found when we learn to balance our body, mind, and spirit as well as our plate. Amiee focuses on nutrition counseling, setting individualized nutrition goals, strategies that fit your lifestyle, providing nutrition education, and achieving wellness through authentic food ingredients.

Unlike many dietitians, Amiee’s journey began as a nursing assistant, leading her to seek a career in wellness as a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2000 and Integrative Yoga Instructor. She is the owner and founder of Essentials Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork, where she integrates the benefits of nutrition, stress relief, and pain management to help her clients achieve optimal health.

Amiee obtained her nutrition expertise through the OSU Human Nutrition Dietetic Internship program. She also gained unique experience at Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Functional Medicine, and OSU’s Center for Integrative Medicine.

Criteria required to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

completion of a bachelor’s degree with an accredited nutrition curriculum including: medical diet, medical nutrition therapy, food and nutrition sciences, foodservice systems management, business, economics, computer science, culinary arts, psychology, sociology, communications, and science courses such as biochemistry, physiology, microbiology, anatomy, and chemistry

a 1250-hour supervised internship

clinical nutrition internship experience working in a hospital setting with a variety of patient conditions including, but not limited to, GI related issues, cancer, cardiology, rehabilitation services, intensive care, wound care, and diabetes

out-patient nutrition internship experience working in clinics and other specialty outpatient services, serving a spectrum of conditions including, but not limited to diabetes, cardiology, iron deficiency, fatty liver disease, and obesity

community nutrition and education internship experience working with and educating people in food pantries and other services like WIC to help address community health problems, and food insecurity

food service and culinary internship experience working in hospitals and other settings, food preparation, demos, food service management, and food safety

satisfactory performance on the national registration exam

on-going continuing education requirements
